The number of people
helped by The Actors Fund
… was over
8,000 in
our mid-September – that’s 25% more than just two years ago. The Fund has also
provided over $1.8 million in emergency financial assistance, and there
are five additional beds now available at the Lillian Booth Actors Home
in Englewood, NJ. With the economy making life even more difficult for
performing arts and entertainment professionals, The Fund continues to
focus on achieving
our mission – to be there for those in need or crisis in our community.
You can make a
difference, and make sure we can continue to help thousands of
performing arts and entertainment professionals in need, by

Announcing “Lights on Broadway”
with
Brian Stokes Mitchell
A fabulous (and gorgeous) new book called
“Lights on Broadway” (Blue
Apple
Books) will be published in early November. This insider’s look at the
world of Broadway boasts quotes from Hal
Prince, Whoopi Goldberg, Kevin Kline, Bernadette Peters, Stephen
Sondheim, Liza Minnelli and many more
and an introduction, postscript and the letter "Z" by our President,
Brian Stokes Mitchell. The book comes
with a bonus CD of Stokes singing “I Was Here” by Lynn Ahrens & Stephen
Flaherty in a special new version. Stokes’ royalties have been
designated to The Actors Fund – thanks! You can pre-order the
book NOW
for yourself and your holiday gift list at
www.amazon.com
and special signed copies will be available
soon online at The Actors Fund Store. Written by Harriet Ziefert and
with amazing illustrations by Elliot Kreloff, the book is a terrific
look at Broadway for everyone from 8 to 80... and up!
