Larry and his friends at The Lillian Booth Actors Home send all our supporters their thanks in song!

LarryThank you to all our friends who made song suggestions for Larry and his fellow residents at The Lillian Booth Actors Home, our assisted living and skilled nursing facility serving those who have dedicated their lives to the performing arts. This community loves their weekly sing-a-longs, especially at the holidays, and all together we received hundreds of song suggestions for our residents to sing with Larry, who tickles the ivories for his fellow residents in Englewood, NJ. Larry and his friends send their thanks to you by sharing these videos where they sing some of their favorites. Click here to view, and thank you for your support, from everyone in entertainment!

Annette Bening Stars for The Actors Fund

Our Trustee Annette Bening recently joined a team of 25 volunteers at Panavision in Woodland Hills, California, to shoot a Public Service Announcement for The Fund, to be screened at the Variety Screening Series in Los Angeles and New York City. Every union member and vendor associated with the shoot donated their time and talent! Special thanks to our director, John Bowab, the Directors Guild of America, Screen Actors Guild, and the many IATSE locals who contributed, with special mention of Local 600—International Cinematographers Guild. Their National President Steven Poster gathered the troops and delivered a top notch crew for this project, all in only two weeks’ time. Click here to view.

Budgeting for People in Entertainment

Let’s face it—budgeting your money and managing your cash flow can be challenging at best, but it’s more likely to be a real chore. The fifth installment in our Podcast Series— Financial Wellness: Organizing Expenses begins a conversation for our clients about financial wellness and money management. Traditional budgets are not always flexible enough for those who work in performing arts and entertainment since work can be so sporadic. Coming up with a good template for a basic month is a tremendously helpful tool to plan for a financial cushion, or contingency fund, for when dry spells in industry work occur. Watch now (the advice they give is good for all of us to remember) and be sure to check back for more installments!
