(And Other AWESOME THINGS They Don’t Teach In School)

  • Would you like to normalize your work life experience as a member of the entertainment community?
  • Curious about what kind of sideline or parallel careers your peers are doing?

Join us for our final Valley Days for 2017 and celebrate the art of keeping your career as an artist intact with a positive approach to this process.  This will be a participatory experience and several copies of Sara Benincasa’s book will be raffled off to the lucky winners.

Catered Lunch will be provided

12:00pm:              Catered Lunch (with ticket from attending the morning session)
12:30pm:              Career Center Orientation
1:00pm:                Ted Talks, Conversation and Dessert

Sara Benincasa is a screenwriter, recovering stand-up comedian and the author of Real Artists Have Day Jobs, DC Trip, Great, and Agorafabulous!: Dispatches From My Bedroom, of which she adapted as a pilot with Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody. In 2016 she published the Amazon bestseller, Tim Kaine Is Your Nice Dad. She acts and can be seen on Hampton Deville on Comedy Central, The Jim Gaffigan Show on TV Land, and the critically acclaimed short film The Focus Group, which she also wrote. Born and raised in NJ, she attended Emerson College, graduated from Warren Wilson College and got an MA from Teachers College at Columbia University. She's working on a new novel for Adaptive Books. She went to her first Actors Fund event when she was 8, with her friend Katie's Girl Scout Troop.
