New Eyes for the Needy

Purchases new prescription eyeglasses for eligible low-income people through a voucher program. This site explains the program and how to apply, and identifies national programs that provide free eye exams.

Provides information about New York City arts in education including the blueprint.

New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA)

NYFA provides the concrete resources that artists and emerging arts organizations need to thrive, including: fiscal sponsorship, professional development, funding.

New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG)

NYLAG’s Employment Law Unit provides advice, consultation and legal representation to low-wage workers on issues related to employment.

New York Metro Parents

This site contains information and resources for parents living in the New York City Region. There are articles on single parenting, child raising, teens, special needs, culture/entertainment and other topics. New York Metro Parents website also includes blogs, parenting groups and discussion boards so parents can benefit and receive support from one another. The site also provides a calendar of events in NYC boroughs and surrounding counties as well as parent resources including after school activities, camps, outings, birthday parties and health information.

New York State Adoption Service

Helps adults considering adoption learn more about the process in New York State. Their website includes a listing of approved adoption agencies, information about the process and adoption subsidies, FAQs, resources, publications and more. Also explains post-adoption services and provides links to local programs.

New York State Alliance

Provides information about and arts in public schools in New York State.

New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault

24/7 hotline operated by trained victim advocates. The rape crisis program includes crisis intervention, individual counseling, support groups, advocacy and accompaniment through medical and law enforcement. No cost. Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Hotline: 800.942.6906.
