Addiction and Recovery Services

We help performing arts and entertainment professionals and their families when there is a problem with substance use or addiction.

Our chief goals are to help you achieve and maintain sobriety, as well as help your family members, partners or friends deal with the effects of substance use.

Support during early recovery can help you and your family members:

  • Enter into a recovery process
  • Learn effective coping strategies
  • Take increasing responsibility for managing your life without the abuse of mood-altering substances

Whenever possible, social workers meet in person to evaluate the person’s substance use. We can also:

  • Organize interventions
  • Make referrals to treatment
  • Help coordinate care with treatment programs
  • Advocate and negotiate on the your behalf with insurance and managed care companies

Financial assistance may be available to help with the cost of treatment and other financial difficulties for eligible members and their family.

These services are strictly confidential. We will not release any of your information to others without discussing it with you first and obtaining a written consent.

Addiction and Recovery Services also helps to educate and assist industry employers, supervisors, managers, agents, union representatives and others in addressing substance abuse issues in the workplace.

Any performing arts or entertainment professional may call on our Addiction and Recovery services for support, information or referrals to community agencies.

Eligibility for financial assistance requires an application, documentation of your professional earnings and an interview and in general is based on:

  • A minimum of five years of industry paid employment with earnings of at least $6,500 for three out of the last five years, or
  • Twenty years of industry paid employment with a minimum of ten years of earnings of at least $5,000 for each of those years, and
