Arts Workers, Entrepreneurship and Contracts | The Artist Exchange

Seminar Hours: 12:30pm - 2:00pm PT / 2:30pm - 4:00pm CT / 3:30pm - 5:00pm ET

While contracts might seem intimidating, familiarizing yourself with them is the first best step to protecting you and your work. This webinar will provide an overview of general contract terms and concepts, and discuss when and why you should consider putting together contracts for your production, project, or new venture. We will also explore common contract issues in the entertainment space and discuss what you can do to deal with them.

About our Facilitator:
Adam Weissman is a NY-based lawyer that represents artists, creators, and production companies in the media and entertainment world. Adam's practice combines his love of the arts and performance, fascination with the changing landscape at the intersection of law and digital media, and insight gained from his past as an associate at a litigation firm, fighting for his clients in court and resolving complex disputes. Outside of law, Adam is a musician and performer with a passion for the Blues, R&B, and Rock, and dabbles in documentary film-making.

About The Artist Exchange:
The Artist Exchange is a think-tank for creative entrepreneurs to identify, manage and execute goals. Our aim through this medium is to connect budding and practicing entrepreneurs to other performing artists and entertainment professionals who share a commitment to launching their projects. Each session will offer a combination of brainstorming, education, peer accountability and support in a group setting to sharpen your business and personal skills.
