Digital Media & Intellectual Property | The Artist Exchange

Seminar Hours: 1:00pm - 2:30pm PST / 3:00pm - 4:30pm CST / 4:00pm - 5:30pm EST

The internet is a powerful tool for spreading awareness of your work to a wide-audience, but what are your legal rights after you put your creations online? This webinar will provide an overview of the relevant areas of intellectual property law (copyright, trademark, and likeness/personality rights) and discuss the steps you can take to manage and protect your work. We will also explore different social/media platforms and discuss what happens to your rights when you post.

About our Facilitator:
Adam Weissman is a NY-based lawyer that represents artists, creators, and production companies in the media and entertainment world. Adam's practice combines his love of the arts and performance, fascination with the changing landscape at the intersection of law and digital media, and insight gained from his past as an associate at a litigation firm, fighting for his clients in court and resolving complex disputes. Outside of law, Adam is a musician and performer with a passion for the Blues, R&B, and Rock, and dabbles in documentary film-making.

About The Artist Exchange:
The Artist Exchange is a think-tank for creative entrepreneurs to identify, manage and execute goals. Our aim through this medium is to connect budding and practicing entrepreneurs to other performing artists and entertainment professionals who share a commitment to launching their projects. Each session will offer a combination of brainstorming, education, peer accountability and support in a group setting to sharpen your business and personal skills.
