Free 8-Week Course for Pain, Stress, Anxiety & Depression

PLEASE NOTE: The February 24 course is full. The next MBSR Course will be in September 2020.

The Actors Fund, Addiction and Recovery Services, is offering a free 8-week MBSR – Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course for those in performing arts and entertainment. MBSR uses meditation, gentle yoga and inquiry as a way of training people to relate differently to stresses in their lives. It was originally developed for patients in chronic pain, but has since been shown to be beneficial for dealing with stress, anxiety and depression.

MBSR Weekly Class and a Full-Day Retreat  

  • 8 weekly sessions Monday February 24 to Monday April 13,  6– 8:30 pm
  • Full day retreat Saturday April 4, 9:30 am–3:00 pm 

Prerequisite: 

Attending the Orientation session is the only pre-requisite for taking the full course. In the orientation session you will learn about the course in-depth, get a brief introduction to mindfulness meditation, and go over a brief questionnaire about how you think MBSR can best serrve you.
