Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy is an 8-week clinical group for professionals in the entertainment community. This evidence-based therapeutic group has been shown to be beneficial in managing anxiety, depression and chronic stress (i.e., isolation, living in uncertaintly). MBCT uses meditation, mindful movement, inquiry and cognitive therapy techniques as a way for people to develop skills enabling them to relate differently to stresses in their lives.

Due to state professional licensing regulations for social workers, this group is available only to residents of New York.

Prerequisite:

If you are interested in joining the group, you are required to attend one of the two orientation sessions and a brief one-on-one interview. The orientation provides an in-depth look at the course, offers an introduction to mindfulness meditation, and will answer questions you might have about how mindfulness might be of value to you.

A commitment to attend all 8-weeks of MBCT is required. The upcoming group will meet on Monday afternoons, February 6-March 27, 2023, 1-3 pm ET, with the opportunity to join a Day of Meditation on Saturday, March 11, 2023, 10 am-3 pm ET.

Please note that interview times and the number of participants in the group are limited. As per NY licensing requirements, participants in this group must also be residents of New York.
