Nutrition for Performing Artists: How to Eat for Energy and Productivity (NY)

As performers and professionals in the arts, much is demanded of you in addition to your talents: long hours, stress, unhealthy food options, mental and physical challenges, and responsibility, all of which can wear you down unless you take care of yourself in the most basic way! Your nutrition is key in the success of your career and in your health.

Here is what you will learn in the seminar:

  • The basics of how to put together a nutrition plan that maximizes energy and mental focus
  • How feeding your body and brain can create a sense of calm and productivity
  • Examples of how to create easy, simple meals and snacks to help you power through the day
  • How to prioritize sleep, eating well and exercise to keep you going

Presenter: MARIE SCIOSCIA, M.S., R.D., CDN, is a registered dietitian in private practice, former dancer, and certified fitness professional. She currently works with the Alvin Ailey school. She has lectured on nutrition in a variety of venues, including The American Red Cross, Time Warner, and The National Dance Teacher’s Convention. She is the author of Eat Right Dance Right, the first nutritional “how to” handbook for dancers with practical applications for everyone!
