The Actors Fund Addresses What the Election Means for the Health Insurance Landscape

The Actors Fund’s Artists Health Insurance Resource Center (AHIRC) exists to provide our community with personalized health insurance counseling, guidance, enrollment support and more.

With the election just behind us, many in our community are worried about their coverage and what a new administration means for the health care landscape. Know that open enrollment continues through January 31, 2017, and that the plans you sign up for now will be good through 2017. However, many programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and the Marketplace plans and subsidies, are being targeted for change. The Actors Fund will keep our community updated as things develop in the coming weeks and months via social media and our monthly Workshops Groups and Seminars e-blast. Sign up for these updates

Also, if you’re in the process of enrolling in or renewing your coverage, don’t forget to use the resources section of our website. It contains tools to help you make decisions about your health insurance, including new online tutorials on how to choose providers and how to read an Explanation of Benefits. In addition, you’ll find an updated Stage Managers National Health Directory, our national online directory of healthcare providers recommended by industry professionals that can be used by theatres and touring companies.
